Urjais landfill biomethane / Cachão LNG unit (Biogasmove)
A Dourogás pilot with Resíduos do Nordeste that made the first injection of biomethane into the Portuguese gas grid, on 19 July 2022.

The biomethane comes from waste biogas (landfill and urban biowaste). In a 2022 presentation Dourogás estimated a potential of about 6 GWh/yr. An LNEG presentation of October 2025 still lists it as an existing pilot; we have not confirmed operation in 2026.
